About the Artwork:
This Western spin on classical mythology began by finding colors and textures that would work in harmony with the natural surface of the wood. Playing with the idea of snake tails as beaded braids, I imagined this Gorgon’s stoic silence broken by the sharp sound of a rattle saying, “Approach at your own risk.”
