“THREE TENSES is a triptych that reflects on the various stages of life: the Past, the Present and the Future. The Past, red with youth, less marred and scarred, looks backward. The Present stares straight ahead, stark and white with traces of youthful color remaining. The Future looks forward, worn and weary, but with a hint of the color it was in the shadows of its now darkened hue.” – Alix Branwyn

Alix Branwyn is an illustrator and fine artist living in the Pacific Northwest of the United States. While she works primarily in oils, her mixed history of prior work in the art world, including a period of time as a tattoo artist, has inspired her to be more experimental in materials choice and methods of creation. Her work focuses on darker themes but with an aim to bring beautiful color and design to imagery that would otherwise be simply macabre.
