About the Artwork:
In Martín’s current work, organic structures that emerge from the automatism of drawing and painting are manifested, in turn such forms are inspired by formations in nature, such as those of plants, bones, minerals, organs of living beings , and cell structures. The human body is also a recurring theme in his work, not only the skin is shown, but also what is under it, in order to show the mechanical complexity that underlies us.
About the Artist:
(Artist Bio)
Martin Riveros Baxter was born in the city of Quilpué on February 15, 1990. He studied at the University of Playa Ancha in Valparaíso, Chile; from which he graduated in 2012. He studied the technique of photorealism in painting and focused on developing neatness and detail, but over time this lost relevance and began to give priority to the symbolic content of the work. From that moment he began to venture techniques and aesthetics, which over the years were taking shape. At that time he was influenced by Flemish painters such as; Bosch, Hugo van der Goes and Rogier van der Weyden and then by artists such as Beksinski and H.R Giger.
