About the Artwork:

“THE GILDED KISS, is inspired by the American Industrial Revolution of the 1870’s -1900. Also coined the ‘The Gilded Age’ by author Mark Twain, he interpreted this period as a beautiful gilded surface in which masked the cold black iron underneath. Could a thin veneer of gold continue to obscure a horrific imbalance in society?” – Sonya Palencia
