“Taking in small moments of gratitude at times like these, when everything seems horrific and unfair in the world, feels like such a privilege. I have been overwhelmed with waves of guilt for not doing enough or saying enough to help those who are suffering—and even those feelings are a privilege.
This piece is part of an ongoing series that explores the juxtaposition of life and loss and the human condition. It’s a cathartic collection of work that reminds us that amidst the horror, there is also beauty and love.
