Alexandra Finkeldey is an illustrator based in Kingston, Canada. She lives with her husband, two cats, and a gecko. She enjoys illustrating the small, cozy details of daily life. Her favourite subjects include animals, plants, landscapes, people, and food. She likes to use warm colour palettes with a focus on natural textures. She illustrated Chris Baker’s On a Mushroom Day (2024) Ruth Doyle’s A Horse Called Now (2024), Nicola Jones’s Saving the Spotted Owl (2023), among other children’s books. She is currently working on picture books and personal illustrations for both domestic and international clients.
