The girl finally released her last secret. It flowed out for her mouth like a light whisper, but the impact lifted the heaviness that had been lingering on her heart. She was able to lift her head toward the light, her soul no longer burdened with her shame.

About the Artist:

Gina Altadonna was raised in Lancaster, Pennsylvania, a rural farming community. In 2010 she received a BFA in drawing and painting from the Pennsylvania State University and in 2014 She received her MFA in studio art from Stony Brook University. Since graduating she has participated in solo and group shows both nationally and internationally. She has received several awards and fellowships and has been interviewed and published in several different art publications. She is currently an Adjunct Professor in Illustration at The Moore College of Art and Design as well as a full time practicing artist and mother.
