About the Artwork:

“The Diplocaulus was an ancient amphibian, now extinct. Many archeologists are fascinated with it’s strange arrow shaped head. Since I was a child, I have been fascinated by this creature. There are excellent complete fossils showing it’s strangely shaped head and basic structure, but no one really knows about the color or body markings. In my imagination I see a beautiful complex creature with floral camouflage as you see in this piece.” – Robert Steven Connett
