Liese Chavez (b1974 US) is an oil painter specializing in Narrative Surrealism. Each oil painting tells a visual story, sometimes humorous, sometimes unsettling, but always with a dream-like quality.
Having grown up in Massachusetts, her artwork still carries some of the flavor of the East Coast, and creating art with that dry sense of humor will always remind her of home. At present, Liese is an Art Nomad in California, chasing perfect weather in her giant rolling studio/land-ship (Class A Motorhome) while painting furiously for her representing galleries and private commissions.
Liese’s art education has been achieved through dedicated study of art textbooks and videos combined with daily practice. She began her studies in 2005 and continues to voraciously study the oldest practices in oil painting, secure in the knowledge that one lifetime isn’t enough to learn them all.
