About the Artwork:

‘My Inner Dreamland’ explores the fluid interplay between life perception and self-discovery. Created during the transition from 2024 to 2025, this piece bridges two years, reflecting the passage of time in its very creation. I see it as a natural sequel to my series on Island Humans, Keys, and Locks, continuing its themes of interconnected mystery. Its meaning, however, remains as boundless and subjective as perception itself, shifting and evolving with each viewer’s gaze. – Irene Martino

About the Artist:

(Artist Bio)

I was born in Italy, surrounded by art and artists. My house was basically an atelier, full of paint, colours and canvases. Growing up, I tried many forms of art but I avoided drawing for all my teenage years. Later on, while studying Drama and Foreign Literatures, I found myself scribbling so much that I felt the urge to learn how to draw. I immediately fell in love, the form of art that I avoided for so long was my soulmate. I love to create dreamlike and surreal atmospheres, to tell a story, one that can be different for everyone observing, because what makes life so interesting to me is the subjectivity of the human experience.
