“All great stories are adventures where the hero has to overcome the guardian of the gate before continuing the quest such as Luke Skywalker getting past Yoda before battling Darth Vader. Epic adventures are about leaving all that we know and falling into a hole or into the gaping mouth of the shark we symbolically give up our familiar life and surrender to Beyond the Untold.” – Gregory Hergert
About the Artist:
(Artist Bio)
As one of the founding members of the Urban Surrealist movement Gregory Hergert creates edgy humorous and erotic urban paintings where people and animals mix it up on the gritty streets enjoying city life. After graduating from Rhode Island School of Design a career as an illustrator took him to Manhattan where the ability to tell stories on demand was forged and as the years flowed by a secret art began to pile up.Challenged in every way by caregiving for his mother who had Alzheimers he had a seminal nightmare of chasing a dumpster full of his art down the street.Awoke and shaken he promised himself from this day forth to give everything to be an artist. You can find him sitting in his studio painting everyday in Portland Oregon.
