About the Artwork:
“In their current series of work, they are exploring their visual language and its relationship between Fantasy and Design. Drawing inspiration from the exotic silhouette’s of Magnificent anthropomorphic beasts from Greek Mythology and how they could contrast with other geometric and organic forms. Griffins are a well known Greek Mythological creature that is comprised of part Eagle and part Lion. They have expanded on this concept of combining big cats and eagles by taking a more geographical and regional approach to how a griffin might look like today given these factors.
The Siberian Griffin is a cold climate creature that uses its white fur and stripes to help camouflage itself as it stalks its prey through the snow, forests and mountainous landscape.” – Kaleidoskull
About the Artists:
(Artist Bio)
Originally introduced at a Sound of Art Exhibition in NY over 15 years ago, Tony Philippou & Monty Montgomery have now decided to partner together to explore a unique artistic vision. A blend of figurative realism, abstract geometry and urban themes. Contrasting organic and physical forms against the hard precise angles of bold color and shape is where the duo flourish.
Individually they work on concepts, color theory and lighting choices from across the country. Ample amounts of blood, sweat and love go in to the preparation and collective process to combine both of their worlds effectively.
Their partnership is aimed at constructing visual imagery that is pleasing to the viewer by making good choices with shape, color and form. Looking to appeal to your sense of wonderment and exquisite beauty.
