About the Artwork:
“While antique shopping, I stumbled across a box of old photographs. Among the pile, there was a lovely picture of a family having a picnic in a big field. It was a very pleasant photo, but there was a hint of sadness in the child’s eyes. It made me think if there was more behind the photo than what seemed to be a pleasant memory. While we use camera’s in our personal lives to document happy memories, how would our not so pleasant and distorted memories look if we could capture them in a visual format? Maybe this family suffered a great loss and the child’s look of grief was foreshadowing some tragic event. While the parents are happy and proud, the child is slowly fading away.” – David Seidman
