Mariana Garcia ‘Maga Rey’ is a self-taught illustrator born in the city of Chihuahua and currently resides in Mexico City. In 2020 she was the winner of the ‘Revelation Artist’ award by the Latin American Illustration Biennial and is currently developing as a freelance illustrator for projects including branding, murals and digital content work.
Her work is influenced by sculpture, Mexican folklore, and nature. She gets inspired by different eras and artistic movements to propose unique graphic solutions to commercial and personal works.
