About the Artwork:

“Understanding alchemy as the process of bringing raw matter to its maximum expression (Gold), for me the artistic work is an alchemical process where the artist uses his knowledge and spirit to turn ordinary materials into food for the soul. A paper, a brush and a little ink are nothing until the hand of the creator intervenes, a musical instrument is nothing more than physical principles applied to materials to generate sounds, until the artist intervenes, and turns it into something sublime.

In this work i tried to capture this vision and at the same time I refer to various elements of the language of the ancient alchemists, in times where knowledge was punished and code language was essential.

In it, the artist (a hermaphrodite being in perfect balance), has managed to open the 7 portals, and with the third eye open is about to execute the OPUS MAGNUM (masterpiece). Is using a strange instrument, inside it the NIGREDO (putrefaction) happens, on the outside the Artist plays a melody and at the same time is painting it, we could say that through this act we can see its sound and hear its stroke, from this process the 7 stars show, and alchemical art occurs.” – Diego Andrade
