About the Painting:
“There is a particular experience that inspired my ‘Ego Death’ piece. In this particular experience, I noticed how things flowed, how they connected. I saw myself age through time, without fearing time itself or my inescapable impermanence. I felt unconditionally kindness towards myself, which was nice, as I tend to be pretty hard on myself. I felt connected to everything and everyone, I forgave everyone and everything, and in that moment, which felt like some sort of a celestial bliss, I couldn’t understand why I have ever felt sadness, or discontent. It seemed like this particular experience caused my identity and my ego to dissolve into something greater than me, something that is profound, yet very much so perplexing. With all said, this piece is about the sensation of letting go of everything that I think I know, or who I think I am in order to dissolve into something that is greater than myself, something that is limitless and profound.” – Boris Pelcer
