About the Artwork:
“This is a symbolic painting connecting the soul of the main character with the personality of the hawk —a bird who can see “the big picture” and get what it wants.
The totem composition represents the delicate but perfect balance between our present selves (human), our past (skull) and our future (hawk) and how they create a whole unit.
Even though the skull is looking backwards, it is also part of the crown and is needed to create distance for the hawk to rest on without hurting the man.
The painting is divided in thirds: while the main character has a busy background anchored in reality, the skull and the hawk float in a high-key ethereal world that may appear light but lies heavy above his head.” – Olympia Altimir
