“While a griffin is traditionally depicted as a lion with the head, wings, and talons of an eagle, this version began by combining animals found in my own neighborhood. Taking this idea to its conclusion was a fun thought experiment, creating visual connections between owls and cats through their posture, markings, and captivating eyes.” – Brian Britigan

Brian Britigan is a Minneapolis-based artist and illustrator. He previously lived in Seattle and New Zealand before moving to NYC to pursue an MFA in illustration at the School of Visual Arts. His images have been featured by The New York Times and have received recognition from the Society of Illustrators, Communication Arts, 3×3, and Spectrum.
