About the Artist:
Amelia Hofsteede is an Australian artist creating dark, dreamlike drawings using graphite as her primary medium.
Amelia is incredibly passionate about her work. Each carefully rendered piece emerges intuitively from a deeply personal, intangible and theraputic practise, expierencing many emotions and metamorphisis to complete.
The highly detailed drawings that materialize are influenced by her experiences in life; a reflection of her desires and darker thoughts through being conscious of and accessing her shadow side.
She experiments with a personal symbolism which is inspired by her spirited curiosity and admiration for nature, curiosities and oddities, interest in body language and the profound relationships of human connection, including spiritual connections with oneself.
