About the Artist:

(Artist Bio)

Anne-Sophie Cournoyer (aka Aethereal Moods) is a Canadian artist who was born and raised in Quebec City. After wandering around the globe for a little while, she migrated to the west coast in 2011 and now resides in Victoria, BC.

Mostly self-taught, Anne-Sophie uses oil paint to evoke the otherworldly. Her dreamlike, symbolic, and archetypal compositions often depict strong and mysterious female figures – witches, goddesses, priestesses, wild women – surrounded by elements of fauna and flora. Her artistic style is informed by her love of botanical illustrations, her sense of bewitching colour palettes, and her attraction to the mystery, sensuality, and hidden meaning found in late 19th century Symbolist art. The result is artwork steeped in nature mysticism that brings to life the raw, primordial power of the Feminine.

Her love of portrait art lead her to create Reverie Portraits, her project dedicated to painting custom watercolour portraits.
