About the Artwork:

Mr. Goldfish was a calm individual and lived his life serenely, made up of simple habits and joys. Mr. Goldfish lived in a small house located on a quiet promontory; from his home you could gaze at the landscape and enjoy fresh light as it consisted of large windows. On the opposite side of the promontory lived Mr. Lanternfish, who had always been very envious of Mr. Goldfish’s house. Mr. Lanternfish lived in a basement house, dark and cramped, and had always wanted a more airy house that could cure his ailments. He several times he had proposed a buy to the neighbor, also offering him exorbitant figures but Mr. Goldfish had always refused. I will not dwell on that time when Mr. Lanterfish sent his daughter out to sing outside Mr. Goldfish’s window and he fell madly in love with her. I will not tell you why one day the charming girl told Mr. Goldfish that he was a terrible sleep and that he needed to be accompanied home and I will not tell you how Mr. Goldfish worriedly brought the helpless, now unconscious creature into that which she called home but which was actually a huge tangle of wires. I will not explain how Mr. Golfish was mortally trapped in it, nor will I describe the joy of Mr. Lanterfish when he learned of what had happened from his daughter. I am pleased to inform you, however, that Mr. Lanterfish is now no longer forced to turn on all the lights in the house, he enjoys a nice breeze every night and his rheumatism is practically a distant memory.
