(Artist Bio)
Caitlin Rose Davis is a surrealist graphite artist and painter with a BFA in Illustration from Ringling College of Art and Design. She has been drawing since she could hold a pencil and, as far back as she could remember, has been passionate about art.
While raised in Northeast Tennessee surrounded by mountains and the infinite change of seasons, she became fascinated with nature, animals and insects. Her love of these things has given her inspiration for her artwork.
She has a diverse range of styles with various mediums including graphite, watercolor, gouache, acrylic and oils. She is always eager to learn new mediums and techniques, as she does not like to limit herself.
She enjoys working on a small scale as it allows her to become more intimate with the details in her work. Her work explores the concepts of juxtaposing familiar elements of nature and animals into surreal depictions of the strange and unfamiliar. Often her work is a blend of dark and yet whimsical characteristics giving her the artist pseudonym Strangely Rose.
Caitlin currently resides in San Antonio, Texas where she has participated in various group gallery shows as well as a solo exhibition.
