“Rumors and lies can drive us into a dark place. The deception and pain it causes can drive a person mad. One must try to put on a smile and pretend everything is ok. In this piece, I explore the emotions associated when one is a victim of such malicious lies.” – Hanna Jaeun

About the Artist:

Hanna Jaeun is a Brooklyn-based painter. She received a BFA in Apparel Design at the Rhode Island School of Design. After some soul-searching, she finally decided to pursue her dreams of becoming a painter. She now works with acrylics on wood panel. Drawing inspiration from religious paintings, childhood memories, and her love of animals, her work explores themes of alienation, vulnerability, and the yearning to belong.

She has had the opportunity to exhibit internationally and across the US.
