About the Artwork:

“My ‘Sphinx’ series is made up of several works representing the divine or cosmic spirit mummified in the shroud of Eternity. These enigmatic creatures are ambivalence symbols of invincibility and sovereignty, they are both ominous and protective creatures. They also embody the questions and the enigma of Existence, they are the link between earthly body and celestial body. ‘Stellar Sphinx’ or ‘Sphinx of Sun’ completes this series. Influenced by Ancient Egypt, She is a celestial being bringing light into darkness… Lux in Tenebris.” – Orphné Achéron

(Artist Bio)

Orphné Achéron is an French illustrator inspired by Mythology, Antiquity and Mediaval era. She studied history of art and fashion design in Paris. After her studies and some professional experiences within Fashion Houses, her passion for imagery, imagination and storytelling was stronger and guided her to develop her own graphic style and her own myths and tales through illustration practice. Fascinated from a very young age by Antiquity and its divinities, her work is totally imbued with it. The vestiges from the Ancient world and all its mysteries and symbols, a legacy left by Ancestors, are her inexhaustible and authentic source of inspiration through a spiritual quest.
