About the Artwork:
“Through the winding lines of dialogue created by my work, I hope to create a panorama of the weak and feverish state of the contemporary environment in which I live.
The dry cut on my own abdomen, as in some of my self-portraits, I regard them as “purifying agents” or even the complete dissolution of being until only bones remaining in the hope of a reunion or retrieving from a deep truth that is lost. At times, this dissolution of being part of the yearning for the confrontation of a hard truth that is shrouded by the beautiful and the delicate, this eclipses terrifying symbols bringing out much that cannot be said in words.” – Zakuro Aoyama
