About the Artist:

(Artist Bio)

My name is Jason Stewart I’ve been drawing as long as I can remember. I’m pretty sure I used this as an escape tool when I was younger. I spent most of my time outdoors exploring the hills, rivers and mountains. I was always inspired by the animals I found, the unique colors and textures in nature animated or not. That coupled with the child’s imagination I’m sure is what you’re looking at today when browsing my art. This, until I was 30 always appeared as a hobby/not a real job from the words of both peers and family. There was encouragement for sure but as we all know discouragement is a heavy weight to carry…it’s more confusing and comes with more questions then encouragement does…especially when we’re too young to understand it is only another’s opinion. Their personal failings and fear projected. So be kind, careful and patient with the little ones…there might be a hidden genius.

I’m 43 now and for the last 13 years I’ve at least drawn, invented, sculpted, filmed, built and created something every day since then. I’ve watched my life, attitude and confidence change. I’ve witnessed myself grow learn and be able to teach. I understand myself, the people and objects around me better than I ever have…I credit Art and Creativity for that. Drawing to me is peaceful as it was once about aggression. It’s my meditation, a resting place. It is the thing I feel called to do, my purpose. I feel very deeply…Drawing is how I honor my souls spirit while I’m here. No matter where it takes me I’ll know that I lived my passion and I explored it until the day that I died.
