J. K. Pevahouse was born in Memphis, Tennessee, but resides in Virginia where he grew up. At the age of thirteen he started practicing martial arts. In 2003, Pevahouse retired from teaching and practicing, soon after, taking his first painting and drawing classes. He studied traditional techniques and subject matters while in school. After a lengthy break, John re-emerged with his own style, using many different techniques and mediums. While he creates original works, J. K. Pevahouse has always been influenced by film, television, pop-culture, and D & D.
