“Artists for years have been exploring the ideas of the ‘kiss of death’ or the kiss through imagery of lovers in a sweet embrace and memento mori. Most of my drawings tend to have the concept of life/death as cyclical and not necessarily something as good or bad but rather beautiful in that symbiosis. The women I portray are strong and in grace, and at times mystical. Therefore the triple arms alludes to the maiden, mother, and crone.” – Stephanie Inagaki
