About the Artwork:
“This small piece is from a new series I started developing this year about heads in and slightly above water. Water is such a rich theme with endless angles to explore and I’m really excited to develop this into a larger body of work. I find that oscillating between working small and working large helps and there are benefits and challenges to both. One great thing about working small, is the limitation in space forces one to distill an idea into essential components. Applying this process to larger pieces makes for a more compelling image also.” – Zach Mendoza
