Clytia, in Greek mythology, was an ocean nymph and lover of Helios, the Sun God. Under the influence of Goddess Aphrodite, Helios left Clytia for princess Leucothoe. Clytia revealed the affair between Helios and Leucothoe to the King, who in return, buried his daughter Leucothoe alive. Clytia did not win Helios back by doing so and turned into a sunflower, admiring Helios’ daily journey from the ground.
