About the artwork:
“Sometimes we have tendencies to grab hold of objects, people, or behaviors that harm us, and even through the pain, we don’t always know how to let go—no matter how hard we try. ‘Self Destruction’ is a piece inspired by habits and tendencies I have tried to let go of time and time again, only to get wrapped up in those metaphorical thorns again. It doesn’t mean there is a lack of hope or trying, though. The glimmers represent our tenacity, and serve as a reminder to never give up.” – Nadia Rausa
