About the Artwork:

“For me, this painting represents the natural worlds connectivity. It is Intertwined in many ways. Various creatures and habitats coalesce. A returning character of mine, the octopus, can be seen boasting intense colours whilst seemingly walking on water. It summons butterflies from its own habitat to the air. How it creates this magic and the purpose is open to interpretation. My goal was to capture the moment, the dance, the chaos. We are increasingly more removed from the intertwining nature of life. I hope to connect the viewer with it, invite them to dance too.” – Kane Kokaris

About the Artist:

(Artist Bio)

Kane Kokaris is a self-taught artist from Gold Coast, Australia. His paintings are imaginative, stylised and often dark. Influences vary from nature and wildlife, to tattoo culture. He looks to partially tell a story within each composition, giving creatures a dreamlike world of their own. Although most tales are seemingly ill fated, capturing the beauty in the darkest of moments is his main desire. Exposing viewers to images which evoke their own symbolic meaning and encourage them to let their imagination run free.
