Akiko Ijichi is a Japanese painter.

She majored in Japanese painting(Nihonga) at university.

Nihonga is a traditional painting technique that uses Japanese paper,mineral pigments, and metal foils, and is characterized by the use of line drawings and blank spaces.

Her works have designs that are a mix of subcultures such as illustrations and manga, and are interesting in that they are expressed using traditional techniques.

She depicts dark and melancholic women and girls, and her mysterious and enigmatic portraits are popular.

She has exhibited her work at galleries and art fairs both domestically and internationally, and her work has also been featured in museums in Taiwan and Japan.
