The Norns, in Norse mythology, were three sisters who created and controlled Fate by weaving the tapestry of Fate and who, by doing so, were responsible for shaping the course of human lives.

Kirsten Schaap (@kirsketchbook) is an illustrator living and working in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. Her work revolves around introspection, darkness, contrast and raw emotion- fear, loss and decay are recurring themes in her work. She mainly works in black-and-white and her work is drawn by hand using a stippling technique, which enables her to bring depth, texture and layers into her work. She is inspired by nature, mythology and science fiction.
