“I started this drawing as something quick to test out some new paper, and found a little creature I had hurriedly scribbled in my sketchbook. I found myself refining the creature and decided to keep going with it, adding the background and more detail as I went.” – Catriona Secker

Catriona Secker is an artist and teacher living in Sydney. She received her BFA from the College of Fine Arts, NSW and her work has been exhibited in galleries in Australia and Hong Kong. Her artworks are inspired by old natural history illustrations and biology texts and are influenced by visual styles ranging from illustration, fine art, visionary and decorative arts.
