About the Artwork:
“This painting is an extension of a series of paintings where I have been exploring the idea of many stories happening at once within a painting. I don’t feel like I want to know everything that is happening, in fact, I want to be left even as the artist asking questions about what could happen, what has happened and maybe even find new things within my own paintings. This series comes from my own extended exploration of memory and story telling and pushing myself to challenge who the story is about, what the story is and why it matters. I like the idea of questioning how we assemble information to build a narrative. In this series the windows and paintings and patterns act as their own narratives and at times can influence the narrative of the scene. As always, my hope is to laugh, get a little weird and ask questions.” – Lindsay Stripling
