About the Artist:

(Artist Statement)

I’m an artist currently living in a small seaside town in Northern California. Originally I’m from down south in San Diego, but I moved up to Bay Area where I studied for two years at San Francisco State University, and then transferred to the California College of Arts and Crafts, where I received my BFA in 2002 in Painting and Drawing.

Over the years my work has shown throughout the US and abroad. I’ve done illustrations or have contributed my work to: Chronicle Books, Giant Robot, Tiny Showcase, Urban Outfitters, Fantagraphics, San Francisco General Hospital, Chipotle, Poketo, Park Life, The Exploratorium, The Howard Hugh’s Medical Institute, The LA Weekly, and Nylon Magazine.

I’m also a zine maker. My first one was when I was 17, and I’ve tried to make one each year since. Most of them are collections of my drawings for each year, but I also venture in documenting and history zines. These days I plan my vacations around possible zine fairs to table at.

My work is informed by my interest in nature, exploring, and wordless storytelling. If there was a way of describing my work it’d be a suggestive narrative with romantic/depressive images.
