This painting is part of my series Memento Mori Animalis that revisits the artistic theme of memento mori adding several animals from the Galapagos islands such as the Galapagos land iguana, the blue-footed Booby and the sally light-foot crab.

Enthralled by the beauty of nature, I have spent seven years in Asia where I have been equally confronted with the damages of human activities to the ecosystems. From this duality, I draw a creative force that imbues my paintings with a vision of the natural world that is poetic and alarming at the same time.
On the canvas, my animals are in the grip of torment, haste, ecstasy and dreams. They are icons of the climate crisis. The aesthetic and visions that I developed blur the boundaries between reality and fiction. They are an invitation to a contemplative reflection on nature as I combine symbolism with a precise execution.
I currently live in Normandy, France. My works have been exhibited in Europe, Asia and North America.
