“I love painting eyes and I love painting flowers. Both are beautiful, emotive and yet also transient and fragile.
I paint eyes all the time and last year I did a project, on a residency in Tasmania, painting eyes on rocks and leaving them in the landscape. This painting is inspired by that time.” – Jennifer Allnut

Jennifer Allnutt is a contemporary figurative artist based in Melbourne, Australia. She works primarily with oil paints on canvas and cradled wood panel.
A lover of old master artwork from Bouguereau and Caravaggio to Hieronymus Bosch, as well as a fascination in poetry, mythos, and music. All these interests permeate throughout her practice.
In her artworks Jenny crafts her own idiosyncratic mythology from these influences and she explores human narratives like, spiritualism, rebirth, love and death through figurative and botanical subject matter.
Jenny’s work has been exhibited in Melbourne, Sydney, Adelaide, Queensland and the United States.
