“I got inspired by the Japanese anime movie, Nausicaa of the Valley of the Wind. I named her ‘Kazane’ in Japanese, which means ‘The Sound of Wind’.” – Mall
About the Artist:

Mall, as she is known since Grade four, is a Filipino visual artist that lives in La Union, Philippines. In year 2001, she graduated from the University of the Philippines College in Baguio, where she took her degree, Certificate in Fine Arts – Visual Communications. She won the Grand Prize for the 2005 PBBY – Alcala Prize, an annual illustrators’ contest sponsored by the Philippines Board on Books for Young People, the Cultural Center of the Philippines and the National Library. She also received the Encouragement Prize in the 14th NOMA Concours for Picture Book Illustrations, a competition biennially organized by the Asia/Pacific Cultural Centre for UNESCO.
Her artworks have since been exhibited both locally, as well as internationally in USA, France, UK and Japan. Currently, she is working on art pieces using her new medium, resin, since these have proven to be a favorite among her clients and fans.
