About the Artwork:
“NIGHT’S NIGHT and MIDNIGHT SUNS (my other contribution to the exhibition) are a series of one theme, which is how we are as an artist got the idea mostly at night and how we battle against sleepiness and drowsy mood to sit and work the idea into a real work of art.
The MIDNIGHT SUNS is a painting to represent how idea striking in the middle of the night, how it grew and formed in the imagination of an artist. the NIGHT’S NIGHT is a tribute to how we are as an artist sometimes (or most of the times) get up from the bed and made sketches that came from the sudden midnight daydreaming.
I made the MIDNIGHT SUNS with watercolor and gold gel pen on watercolor paper, and the NIGHT’S NIGHT using the same material but I cut them off and rebuild it again to represent the eager to put ourselves in the middle of the night to get the job done.” – Atreyu Moniaga
