About the Artwork:
“This piece was inspired by the origin myths of the Desana People in Colombia. According to them, our universe, created by the sun, has several different levels, one of which is Axpikon-Diá, a subterranean river of white and green waters, white because of the mother’s milk that flows through it and green because of the sacred medicinal plants. It is said that this is paradise and this is where our spirits go when we die.” – Diego Peñuela
