He grew up drawing animals out of magazines and stayed involved in music and arts for the majority of his childhood. In his high school days he won a New York Scholastic art award, Shortly thereafter he attended a summer course at the Denver institute of art but was unsatisfied to find out it meant sitting behind a computer and not pushing paint at an atelier, he packed up his bags and headed to California to play heavy metal music and found himself in a tattoo apprenticeship.
