‘Fortitude’ is part of a series exploring stoicism and the quest for inner strength in the face of overwhelming challenges. In this piece, a woman carries a heavy, dull metal mask with a neutral, almost impassive expression—a protective barrier that lets her become a neutral observer of her emotions. The creeping knots of coral and the embroidered gryphon on her cloak imbue her with resilience that quiets her doubts and guides her forward. – Danny Bitton

Danny Bitton is a fantasy illustrator living in West Chester, Pennsylvania.
His love for drawing began in early childhood as a way to connect with stories, worlds, and characters inspired by his favorite books and games. He loves to depict fantastic characters and tell stories through his illustrations inspired by dreams, myths, and history.
Danny graduated from the Maryland Institute College of Art with a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Illustration in 2019. He layers soft acrylic and mixed media textures to create dreamlike atmospheres.
His works can be seen in books, games, and galleries across the United States. Danny regularly contributes to Everyday Originals and WOW x WOW both of which are online galleries that sell original works of art to collectors around the world.
