About the Artwork:

“Thanks to social distancing, I’ve spent a lot of time gardening this spring. As I began sketching, I knew I wanted to focus on the color green and started playing with the contrast between what we see above ground and what exists below. We’re living in a moment where the repercussions of decisions made generations ago are being laid bare, and I wanted to explore the idea of reconnecting with the past to better understand the present.” – Brian Britigan
