About the Artwork:
“This small piece details the grief I’m experiencing over the sudden and tragic passing of a great friend. He loved anything to do with ancient Egypt, flowers and danger. He lost his life to addiction. The drawing has a white lily, a pierced human heart and the skull of Anubis to symbolize the weight of his death. The emaciated torso has a large void in the middle of the chest and a drip of water below, symbolizing the agony I continue to experience. Simply put, it’s all about confronting loss and the raw emotions that come along with it.” – Alexander Van Brasch
