About the Artwork:
I have drawn many cats in my life, illustrated Cat´s books and even a ‘Tarot Cat Deck’. And I can tell many stories about cats but they all follow the same premise: Cats are not what they seem. Contrary to what everyone may think, I don’t have a cat and never had before but I am fascinated for the relationship between them and us. We, poor human beens, make them depositaries of our desires: We find them mysterious, make them gods, and even give them supernatural powers even our most deeply wish, the immortality. Don’t be naive, do what They want. In English the owner of the house is called: HOMEOWNER word that contains … HO – MEOW – NER. It is clear who is in charge in the houses and not only in those of the Saxons. As the Italian writer Italo Calvino said: “The city of cats and the city of humans exist within each other, but they are not the same city.”
