About the Artwork:
“Beelzebub tending his flock gently overseeing their nourishment he is indeed Lord of the Flies. He’s a demon associated with the Canaanite god Baal capable of flying thus the nickname Lord of the Flies worshipped by the Philistines and synonymous with Lucifer. In my painting I tried to capture the illusion of the Daguerreotype photos which used silvered copper plates and were hugely popular from 1840 to the 1850’s.” – Gregory Hergert
