About the Artwork:
“I encountered I this pine during a hike in Yellowstone National Park high up on a rocky cliff. As I approached the tree, the trail `ascended gradually in a series of zigzags. With each twist and turn, the pine tree underwent a remarkable metamorphosis. Its appearance varied distinctly when viewed from the side, the front, or the opposite side. A multiplicity of perspectives started to intertwine and dance in my mind.
Later that night, a full moon rose into the sky. I thought about the moon’s own phases, its ebbs and flows, its hidden depths, its dark side. Night became the perfect realm to explore these ever-changing perspectives.” – Rachael Pease
