About the Artist:
Through photography and art direction, Dutch artist Nona Limmen (1986) explores ideas of mythology, symbolism, the occult, and shadow work. With her dreamlike and thought-provoking images the Beverwijk born artist invites the viewer to self-analysis, gently nudging them to tap into their subconscious and examine their inner world.
By mixing themes of the collective unconscious and inner power with the obscure, the artist explores the perpetual interaction between light and shadow. Her lense serves as a liminal space that lures you in and makes the world around you fall away as you’re drawn through a portal of her own creation. A realm both ancient and familiar, like a faded memory you didn’t know you had, but yet wish you can always go back to.
